Our school differs from many by offering enrolments to young Reception students just starting school, right through to Year 12. All on the one campus.
The school's grounds and facilities are quite vast, with a student base of around 500 split across the 13 year levels.
Our brand new Junior School buildings opened in late 2010 allow our reception age to Year 5 children access to fantastic new educational facilities, quite separate to our Middle School and Senior School facilities - allowing each age group to learn in their own areas.
However, in the school yard, you will quickly notice a cohesive family feel, with our Juniors often playing and interacting freely with the Seniors. Our student base is also extremely multi-cultural with students from over 40 different countries harmoniously learning and interacting together. You will no doubt notice this camaraderie as you explore photographs across this website.
Many of our families choose William Light School R-12 specifically to enable them to have all their children attend one school location, keeping their family unit together. Saves travel time. Brothers & sisters support one another. One set of uniform styles. One set of school procedures to remember. Simplifying life to allow our families to really feel a part of the school over all the years of their children's education.
Friday the 16 September 2011, from 6pm (School Activity Hall)
This event celebrates and acknowledges how the many diverse cultures that exist within our school community enrich our lives. On the evening, each family is asked to bring along a dish from the region of the world in which they originated. These dishes are then enjoyed by everyone as a shared supper. There will be several performances by students and guests on the night. We are looking forward to a colourful, flavourful evening, and we hope you can join us there.
Parent ICT survey - August 2011
Students live in a technological world where information and communication technologies (ICTs) are a part of everyday life. The following link will take you to a short survey so that we can find out more about your child's use of technology.
This will help us in planning strategies to assist learning in and out of school. It will only take a few minutes to complete and your responses and ideas would be appreciated.
